I was looking at the offerings from an online retailer when I noticed the Heckler & Koch by Benchmade P30 in the first picture:

And the long-discontinued Bradley Alias (also a subsidiary of Benchmade, for the three people who might not have known. :foot:)

Now, I grant you, the resemblance isn't perfect, but it's hard to un-see.......

Never noticed this

BUT

I will say that Alias is sweet!!
I'm one of the few that doesn't have one yet :(
I've only seen and handled them

I do not have one, either. But if there is a nitrided stainless steel slab version in the future, that might change.

I have owned small and large Alias folders, and they were great. I didn't notice the resemblance, but then, I don't follow HK or BM much at all. But imitation is a rather common form of flattery, so other than patent infractions, it's okay.
There are quite a few folders that resemble each other, as there is just so much that you can change from a decent boiler-plate design.
Now, the challenge is to make the HK as SMOOTH as the Alias models...

Didn't Benchmade manufacture the Bradley folders? I mean, that's a Benchmade pocket clip for sure. I have a feeling Benchmade bought the design and are just using in other places... Since Benchmade also manufactures H&K.

Heckler & Koch P30- Plastic handles. Liner lock. Assisted opening.

Bradley Alias- Titanium handled frame lock. No assisted opening.

The pocket clips are also completely different.

With the exception of their general shapes, I don't see the similarity.

I've been carrying and using a Bradley Alias for about a decade now. It's my "go-to" folder and I've been very happy with it.
