Did anyone GIVE knives for X'mas?

I didn't get any knives myself this year. Seems that the topic comes up quite a bit about what knives you just got, but not too often about what knives you gave!

With this in mind, anyone give a knife or two out this year as X'mas gifts to your family, friends, or loved ones?

Gave my wife a Victorinox Classic (she keeps it on the keychain next to the photon I got her last Christmas). Slowly but surely I'm curing her of sheeple-itus. She was really happy about the SAK, and after we cooked and ate brunch at my sister's house she said that, the next time we go over there, I ought to bring my stones and sharpen my sister's kitchen knives because they're so damn dull. Now keep in mind, when we first got married my wife used to complain that I got our kitchen knives TOO sharp. Now she finally realizes how much easier and more enjoyable it is to do kitchen work with decent knives.

I got my 14 year old son a Leatherman Wave. I always ask for knives but never get them. "You have so many knives already, what do you need another one for. I would rather get you something you could use".

Gave my wife a Leatherman Pulse, my brother a Columbia River Apache LE edition, and myself a custom Wegner Pro hunter.

SAK's for all grandchildren of adequate age. I.e. more than 3 years old.
Happy sharpening

I gave my brother in law a Gerber E-Z out. He has been needing a half way decent knife for sometime. He loved it so much he went out and bought some sharpening stones. It is a start.

Got M16-03s for two tech's that work for me and a MOD Trident for another coworker. My brother got a REKAT Pikuni. My girlfriend (who finally finished her thesis submital, WOO HOO) is order a pair of custom made matched daggers. We were hoping to get the order in months ago, but she had to resubmit and defend her work first.

It is not the fall that kills you. It is the realization that "yes, you did something that stupid."

Giving (haven't seen him yet) one of my friends a BM 720. I bought my grandfather a nice little LE Case Canoe w/blue(?) scales, and polished bolsters and blades for Christmas several months ago, but ended up giving it to him the next day. His health wasn't good, and I didn't know if he'd make it to Christmas-he did

Got Spydies for folks this year -- an Orange Rescue Jr. and an Endura for my roommates, a Goddard lightweight for a good friend, and I'm probably going to send something nice to my brother and sister. I always give knives as presents for Christmas, birthdays, etc., etc.; any excuse to spread the addiction, I suppose.

Yep, gave my parents and my wifes parents each a small (4" blade) kitchen/utility knife made by MaxTheKnife (OGG Custom Knives). They went over very well too

Pretty much the only thing I gave were knives.

I got cologne.

My Boy Scout friend recieved a Cold Steel Bushmaster(later found out fixed blades weren't allowed).

Two girls got little keychain knives(friggin' sharp!).

Another crazy friend got a Taiwan folder.

I added a Leatherman Micra(red) and a Photon(blue) to my mother's keychain.

I sent a SAK Tinker to my sister-in-laws nephew as he has been coveting my brothers. And the same brother got a MT LCC to match his motorcycle gear

My Father received a 2700 layered damascus blade with a crown stag handle made by Herb Derr last year. My brothers were supposed to get a pair of Gen O Denning hunters, but I kept those because I could not part with perfection.

So this year I bought them each a PJ Tomes semi-skinner in forged 52100 steel with tapered tang with jigged brown bone scales. This is a really nice small using knife. It is designed with no guard so you can grip the front part of the blade between your thumb and fore fingers for delicate work. 7.5 inch OAL, 3.5 inches covered by handle slabs. A simple, light weight, and efficient tool for hunting or general utility. I hope they use them more than their Randalls
