Did GEC ever make a 66 serpentine jack in blood red bone?

Lenny's question about the calf ropers got me thinking about this. I have searched, but found no indication that they did, but you all know so much more than I do.

Did GEC ever make a 66 serpentine jack in blood red bone? I really like that bone color, and prefer a jack knife to a stockman.

A related question, how do the calf ropers and serpentine jacks compare in width? I assume they are both two spring knives.

Thanks.

I don't recall a jack being made... There is a moose and the calf roper you mentioned. If there was one, it might have been a short run. You may need to sift through the production totals to confirm.

Width wise, they are both 2 spring knives but the stockman has an extra liner and both springs are "full" thickness. The pen blade/spring on the jack is slightly thinner stock thereby making the knife slightly slimmer overall.

Thanks Trand, very helpful.

For some reason I have an irrational bias against knives with same size blades on opposite ends, otherwise the Moose would be a perfect choice.

Well, actually, I would love to see a blood red bone White Owl, because I like single spring knives.

I had exactly the same philosophy until a low ball bid of mine was hit. I now have a #53 muskrat in my regular rotation.

As near as I can tell - No. They did make Ropers in that color. They should be about the same width, they're both 2-spring knives.

Sorry, late to the party. Had to leave for a bit, just got back.

I haven't seen a jack, but I have to say the Bullwinkle Moose in blood red bone is one of the nicest GEC's I own.

I have the same bias, which is why I recently sold of my 2 moose patterns. Something about them just didn't do it for me.

Not seen one, but there are sometimes very small releases or one-off models that appear.

What I've been after is a Rotten Banana Bone or better still, Pumpkin Patch. Both seem elusive:mad:
