Did I get a bum Calypso Jr ???

I emailed / PMed Joyce and Tazkristi - no response yet.

I checked with several dealers - all had wobbly blades.

If you don't mind, please keep us posted. I'm actually surprised Sal hasn't already commented on this matter, considering the large number of these that have been sold in a very short period of time, and the seemingly prevalent issues of loose pivots, off-centre blades, and warped blades. I suppose there's not much that can be done, short of exchanging all of the knives. However, since this is a new run of an older design and the "kinks" have yet to be worked out, I doubt that the replacement batch would be much better. My sympathies are with the dealers, who seem to be taking the majority of the fault by issuing exchanges and returns, when they themselves had nothing to do with the flaws.

Just got mine today. With the lock depressed, I can get front to back movement on the open blade (like trying to close an otf) My lateral pivot motion isn't quite like the video, but there is play both open and closed. I can also get the blade to twist slightly around the centerline (tip to butt)

All of this goes away if I pinch the handle at the pivot with one hand while moving the blade with the other. I'd like to take off the clip and give the pivot one good shot with a ballpein, but I guess that might kill my warranty.

Sal and Team are travelling at the moment, I believe...they're in Europe? So I'm not expecting so soon a response from Sal. BUt I think Kristi may have been on the forums recently although I don't know if she's seen this thread. Anyways, I'll wait and see what they say can be done first - I'm sure they'll do their best, as always...I don't think I'm shipping back to the dealer yet....I mean, I paid for and I want a good knife. Shipping back and forth only means I'm the biggest loser - shipping fees are not cheap for international buyers like me.

My Caly Jr. ZDP has a little play in the tip when it is closed. When open it is rock solid. Scary sharp.
