  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Did I miss something?

Good idea Brian.

Important to have another generation that values the outdoors or stuff like wilderness areas and national forests will be put on the back burner politically in the future.

Really sorry to hear you are getting out of the knife-making business.
You are a talented knife-maker and designer as well.
Your Bushcrafter was number #1 on my "Customs to Buy list", also really like the look of the Scandi neck knife as well.
Still your health, your family and your quality of life have to take top priority so i can totally understand the reasoning behind your decision!

Hmmm just a though what about maybe licensing the designs out to another custom maker? Or a deal with a production knife company ala Ethan Becker?

I applaud your decision Brian. When you are 70 years old and look back, you are not going to say "I wish I made more knives." You are going to say, "I'm glad I spent as much time with my family as I did"

+1. You made a great decision Brian, congrats . And here I just suggested to my Scandi-loving friend that your Bushcrafter looked to be one of the best on the market....:D

Way to go, Brian!

If more people had that kind of sense, this country might be in a lot better shape....

Stay sharp,

Brian has developed his skill sets quickly and admirably. I'm sure if he gets an itch to grind, he'll pound a little metal and maybe throw us some scraps now and again!

It takes a hell of an ego and self confidence to ride a reputation wave as fast and high as Brian did and then let it quietly go. He will know when it is the right time for him to swim those waters again. Bladeforums shows a history of many maker's following the opposite strategy. Giving in to the lure of $$ and accepting orders beyond their capacity to deliver and/or losing integrity in the process. I think Brian came to the best decision for him! The towel isn't thrown in yet, and we know that talented makers + a little breathing room can be a very potent combination towards producing something really special and unexpected!

Family first, work second, hobbies third. Or is it Family first, hobbies second, work third?
:) Either way, you made the right call. If more people had your priorities there would be a whole lot fewer problems in the world. Good decision.
