 Very nice.. i have been wanting to stonewash a couple of my zts but that coating is a pain.

Sweet work! Definitely one of the coolest looking 560s around. The stonewash and the scales compliment each other well.

I never really contemplated doing that to my 560 till seeing yours. That turned out great. I'm in the process of re profiling my edge, I'm thinking I'll just go ahead and acid/stone wash first.

Thanks guys, left it in the acid about 40 minutes, defiantly wait to reprofile till after the stonewash

And the scale it's a rival one I bought off of a member here

Here's a closed pic of the ti side, not sure if I want to keep the 5.56 lake country lbs I made or not

That 560 looks bad a$$.

Does anyone know of a good link or video that explains the stone wash and acid process? Is it difficult? I assume that a stone wash kills your edge correct?

IMO, the brass LBS brings down the knife a bit. Your 560 has a very custom look and the brass is just, kind of cliche.

Protect pivot area and detent track with clear nail polish, allow to dry.
Soak in 50% PCB etchant for 30-60 minutes, depending on how dark you want it.
Rinse with cold water, dry thoroughly.
Reapply nail polish if needed.
Put in container with a handful of pebbles, wrap in towel, tape up towel, put in dryer (no heat) for as long as needed to achieve the look you want.
Rinse and dry again, remove nail polish, reassemble.
Reprofile and sharpen.

That's how I did it anyway.

I went full strength on pcb etchant for 40 minutes and rinsed in warm water, bought the etchant, from radio shack, grabbed some medium sized smooth stones they had out front (I found that funny) used those, pea gravel and dish soap and water...... Also forgot I ran over it with 2000 grit wet sand paper lightly to lighten the edge color

I like the darker look of the LBS now. It goes well with the rest of it. Very nice job!
