did some zt 560 mods

Thanks guys, left it in the acid about 40 minutes, defiantly wait to reprofile till after the stonewash

And the scale it's a rival one I bought off of a member here

Rival makes awesome scales. I got a set for one of my JYD CPs back when he was just getting started. It's beautiful.

As soon as i get my Zt560, i'll be getting another one from him

Protect pivot area and detent track with clear nail polish, allow to dry.
Soak in 50% PCB etchant for 30-60 minutes, depending on how dark you want it.
Rinse with cold water, dry thoroughly.
Reapply nail polish if needed.
Put in container with a handful of pebbles, wrap in towel, tape up towel, put in dryer (no heat) for as long as needed to achieve the look you want.
Rinse and dry again, remove nail polish, reassemble.
Reprofile and sharpen.

That's how I did it anyway.

This might be a dumb question but does that void the CRK warranty?

That 560 looks so much better with the newly finished lbs. Definitely has a cohesive vibe. Great job on that, man.

Thank you for the explanation good sir!

Yoko, I like the new LBS better, it's more cohesive to the design.

Yes, but I did it because I had already voided my warranty be getting the blade re heat treated. CRK runs their S35VN way too soft, so I had it hardened up to a more reasonable HRC.

Yoko, did you cover the pivot area? I'm wondering how stonewashing will effect the lock up. I've only washed clips and an old Cyclone blade, which now has blade rock.

i put nail polish on anything that would have any kind of contact with anything , no problem at all still smooth no rock

You are fearless! I have rival making a custom scale for my 056x and I'm worried my torx bit might strip a screw or two. Don't enjoy drummeling my knives! Hands not steady as I'd like.

I loved the knife, but Christ almighty the blade was soft! Figured I'd go all out and I'm glad I did!
