Did someone tell Wulf there was a Hammer-In?

Hey gang!

Got back from Derrick Wulf’s New Northeast Hammer-In this morning (about 1 AM, really), and finally feel up to reporting on the festivities.

The weather broke just in time for the shindig to get rolling, and held straight through the weekend (poor Larry “T-Blade” drove the last 30 miles on his Hog in torrential downpour!). The food was fantastic, the presenters were not only smiths and craftsmen of the highest order, but they were also perfectly complimentary to one another, and the event had a flow to it that belied the fact that this was Derrick’s first hosting of such an engagement.

It was great to put faces to names, and I’m pretty sure I’m not speaking for myself when I say that a great time was had – by all! Lots of hammering, lots of technique talk, an amazing exchange of information, and lots of the usual 8th grade childish razzing. For crying out loud, there was an uninterrupted TWO HOURS of joke-telling where everyone participated (with the usual downward spiral to the lowest common denominator occurring with everyone, I might add), and I laughed so hard I lost part of my voice!!!

I look forward to this being an annual event, as I’m sure it will be. Thanks for the chance to be involved in this, Derrick – we’re all in debt to you for your generosity!

Sounds like fun, thanks for the report.
The pictures aren't working....

:)

We tried to get a picture but we could'nt all fit in Coops light tent!! :D :D

 Next year we should tell Derrick he's having a hammer-in so he can get some firewood together! ;)

Nice to meet ya in person,Matt. It's nice to meet the people we talk to on here. Do you know if Mace found his hammer??? :D :D

Matt, you were a huge help. Thanks so much for coming up early to help with everything. Please thank Dave for me as well. If it wasn't for you two and Mace and Aldo I might've forgotten that I was having a hammer-in!

By the way - when I was cleaning up I found a fish? wrapped in electrical tape? Assuming that was yours...

nope that was mine...... well actually it was a gift to mace. i was gonna leave it with him while he was sleeping. must have dropped it along the way

I've got my pictures up online and i'm captioning them as we speak during my lunch break. I'll get a link up to them all and my write up soon.

Most excelent hammer-in! The only thing I'd change about it would be... to remind Wulf ahead of time that he was having one !

Without a doubt Wulf hosted an excellent event  Big Kudos to you Wulf :D

Like Matt said the last 30 miles were quite WET :grumpy: , but that didn't slowdown having a great time.

Matt, you and Mike sure suprized Mace, when you shrunk his anvil

Again, Wulf thanks a bunch!

i have said it before and i will say it again

BOOM CHICKA WAH WAH
