Did spyderco bomb at blade?

Nothing new or cool from them at the show. Had lots of knives to flip thought.

I haven't seen one post on spyderco at blade show. What gives?

They did bomb the show..... Reason? They're too busy making money to focus on new projects.
They're severely behind on several production and sprint or exclusive runs... they're counting money...

Much more than some of their competitors can say.

They also ask that no pictures be taken of certain knives. I would imagine that explains some of the lack of hype here.

That sucks! I wasn't a big spydie fan until I got a few, now I'm a junkie! I NEED MORE!
However, my wallet is happy my addiction isn't crk! :D

Played with Fluted CF Para 2 and Native 5
And the Domino (Now on pre-order)
All I can say is :D :D :D
That Fluted CF Para 2 was a dream

Spyderco has a lot of really cool knives in the works, it's just that they already revealed them before Blade.

As already pointed out, they don't allow pictures AND are tight lipped about ETA's. It's all relative... To me, they did well, there are quite a number of Spydercos dropping that I will be picking up. Just one example is the CF Native5 in S110v, a homerun as far as I'm concerned but I guess plenty of the upcoming releases were already announced at SHOT and at the Amsterdam meet.

Going to BLADE and being able to meet the Glessers and all the others involved with Spyderco isn't too bad either. Wish I made it, it would be one of the booths you would find me hanging out in.

Man... lot's of negativity in this forum lately.
Enough already.
+1000.

I too was curious as to why they didn't have/allow much of a media presence, but I'm excited to hear some of the descriptions/reports of what was on their table.

Good to hear they've got some new goodies in-store.

It seems most companies were a little "light" this year even Busse didn't show a bunch of new models.

On a different forums a few Blade regulars said they didn't go this year because they spent all their knife money on stocking up on guns and ammo.

Spyderco never shows their hand in poker. Spyderco is doing just fine and they have a lot of stuff going on right now. They are just busy as heck.

From my light perusal of the Spyderco.com forums, it appears that they did have prototypes at Blade but requested no photo's to be taken. There has also been much discussion about Spyderco really throwing their time and effort into expanding the Golden facility - hence, the dearth of Para 2's and Native 5's. The old cliche rings true: "Good things come to those who wait." :D

Good to know. I saw a bunch of excitement from other makers at blade but not much from spyderco. Thanks for clearing that up. I hope the upgrades at golden will make their stuff even better!

Saw a couple cool protos in the case at Blade. Just hope they are going to be made in the USA or Japan. I have lost a lot of interest over the past few years as most every design I like is made in Taiwan or China and I will not buy them. I really hope they expand enough to make more models here.

Taiwan isn't China though. The models from Taiwan are all using US made materials and are some of the best quality folders Spyderco has ever released.

I know but I would rather buy knives made by US workers. I have to buy way to many things made over seas I have no choice on.
