Did Spyderco Change Their Handle Steel?

I have noticed that all of my newer stainless steel Spyderco's handles scratch really easy. I had one knife look like I had been carrying it for years after just a few days of pocket carry. I have been carrying different stainless models for years and I've never had that problem.

Did Spyderco change something?

I don't know. Any stainless handle knife I carry for more than an hour looks like it has been dragged behind my truck by the lanyard. My Lava and D4 SS don't look any worse than my GIN-1 Police.

Any knife I've ever had in SS has had small scratches etc. on it within an hour of cary or even just riding in an empty pocket. I've even seen some come out of the box with a few small scratches. I don't much care as I plan to use them anyway.

Nope, don't think so. They always look like they went through WW III after a few hours. That's part of the fun. Once they're scratched up, you don't have to worry about them anymore;)
