Did stone age people baton?

If you're foolish enough to let the fire die, and the wood get wet, you sit, huddled together for warmth, throwing rocks at the wolves, bitching about the weather and your women, chewing on whatever meager food you have, and waiting eagerly for the dawn. It's been this way forever. It's still this way for many.

There are many aboriginals who had much greater lifespans than the average modern man! There are accounts of native Americans living for over a hundred years and accounts of Indian saints living in caves for hundreds of years!(but lets save that discussion for another time:D). And I completely agree with you here, Id say an average stone age man was much more fit, healthy and probably much smarter than the average modern man.

Point made. Living in Idaho on a very limited budget, I've taken on the 'caveman diet' of red meat, nuts, dairy and tuberous vegitables. I haven't eaten any processed foods in months, if not a year. I've also been more inactive than ever due to my legs being messed up, but I'm still maintaining good shape and fitness. My heartrate is still nice and low (about 49bpm resting) and for the first time that I can remember, I haven't got sick this year. Typically I suffer one of if not all of the following-pneumonia, strep, mono, flu, upper respiratory infection, and chronic sinus infections. I spent the winter in a teeshirt and a wool hat building a cabin in northern Idaho, more exposed than I ever have been, and my immune system kept me in good shape. There's something to be said for that...

The ancient Egyptians used sonic drills to bore through solid stone.

They also used electric batteries.

Several of the cultures around 3800 years ago had well made crystal and glass lenses that could be used to start fires with sun light.

Flint, steel, rubbing sticks, and a whole assortment of tools were at their disposal.

It is a mistake to think the ancients were primitive and that we are smarter.

Today we are only living at the tail end of the technology curve. We inherited all of our gadgets and tools. 3800 years ago, they envisioned them and built them from scratch. (Using no previous designs.)
