Did for anybody have ever UPS 2 day delivery was delivered in two day?

I usually tryeing to avoid UPS and go with USPS - they do no guarante anything, cost less and deliver in second day.

But UPS even I pay extra for 2 day delivery always fail! Not a single time they did deliver in time without me calling them etc.

This time it was because they don't know my company name (we have entier street here only for our campus nobody else here!) also my name is hard to recognize (it is kind of rare even in Russia).

Thanks Vassili.

My mom ordered a lot of stuff 2-day delivery.....over a week ago. I've never had anything come within the two business days. Ever.

Nope, not for me, either... Last time I ordered 2nd day delivery, they assured me that it would arrive after 2 days of THEIR choosing (like Tuesday & Friday).

I used it to get a knife from the Cutlery Shoppe back in 1996. It worked well then. Usually when I order, it takes only three days to get here. The last two years, every thing has been arriving in four days. :grumpy:

"3 Day Select" took 7 days and that was because I picked it up at the warehouse. Pathetic, USPS Priority has gotten stuff across the country to me in 3 days and less, never more than a week. Down with brown!

I've had a dozen or more packes shipped to me via UPS. Everything has arrived on time. However, none of it was rushed, just standard ground. Somethings came the day after I ordered it if the company I ordered from was close by.

I wonder if those who had bad experiences were the result of the driver having trouble finding your place? Or showing up and no one was there to sign for it?

I call them and I have a great deal - I'll came there and pick it up myself!

I'am happy now! I'll tell you how it will go.

They say they were not able to find me here. We have each employee name in corporate database - 5 second to find anybody any where and if shipper able to charge my Visa - they have right name on address. All this "COMPANY OR PERSON UNKNOWN, NOT DELIVERED" - just reduculos!

Thanks, Vassili

Just got it. Now I am fine, happy and relaxed. Probably it is goot to have some trouble riching your aim - make it more enjoible at the end.

Thanks, Vassili.

I find that UPS's online tracking system is unreliable. More than once, the system told me a package was waylaid somewhere, and then the guy knocks on the door - they simply don't scan the package in many instances.

I was waiting for a red label package from Crawford, went to check it's status on the internet, where it told me that it had been rescheduled for delivery another day. Then, a few hours later, the dude shows up with my knife.

I worked for that god awful company for six and a half years. That place has to much work to do, not enough people, and not enough time, especially now during the holiday season. The only full time employees there are managers and drivers.

Boink you're right packages don't get scanned. One year during "peak season" I had to load five trucks by myself. Normally two trucks is more than enough, but since my bosses were to worried about extra hours on our shift I had to load those trucks. After an hour nothing got scanned and nothing got checked. If the company provided it's workers with the right equipment and enough people to work, things like that wouldn't happen. All they care about is getting the packages in and getting them out.

If UPS made a product instead of providing a service they would have been out of business years ago.

I've had very good luck with UPS 2 day -- everything from expensive knives to the aged Sumatra coffee beans I buy from Peet's Coffee & Tea, 3,000 miles from here, in Berkeley, CA.

I've never once had UPS nor USPS 2 day service successfully achieve a delivery in 2 days.

On the other hand, Federal Express has delivered on time, as per agreement, every single time I've used 'em.

Fire them up and get them to refund.
Heck, I made Canada Post refund a portion of the money after I've rattled my sword on them for packages sent down to the state that somehow mysteriously not reported on tracking.
I told them it's hard to find a guy honest enough to say the package has arrive but the tracking is screwed up instead of just saying the package didn't arrive and get the insurance.
I've also gotten mad at UPS because their stupid drivers were not smart enough to find another "Lam" on the intercom directory, and that part cost me 4-5 days extra because they delivered on Thurs (if they didn't screw up) and came on like Monday or something.

I haven't had any problems with UPS. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. USPS Priority mail says 2-3 business days. I always mail from a main postal processing center. The postal people always say that its usually 90% likely to arrive on the second day, *wink*, *wink*. Always seems to get there on the third day, which to them means that if I mail it Wednesday morning, it gets there by Saturday afternoon. I bet regular mail beats it.

For the most part, I've been very lucky with UPS. But I have everything shipped to the office where our business manager is, so she can sign for it. Once the guy "knows" your address, and knows you, they usually just drop it. My bitch is with USPS, if it's insured, even if my wife is at home all day, I almost always get a pink slip in my mailbox, so I have to go to the P.O. to pick it up, which is a hassle. FedEx ground just plain old sucks, but for time critical stuff, you can't beat them on overnights. I've found the UPS tracking system to be danm near perfect, so no complaint there. USPS tracking is virtually nonexitent. P.S. I get or ship about 4-5 packages a week, so I'd say Igot a bit of experience.

On our street we have only our campus, nobody else. There is always receptionist and they should take deliveries and sign etc in the lobby it each building, there is employee database accessible from each lobby for every receptionist and they know how to do this. UPS is half mile from us - I come there in 1 min.

It is really hard to belive that driver somehow was not able to find me.

Thanks, Vassili.

UPS sucks, plain and simple. 6 years ago I was the Shipping/Recieving manager for a good size electronics company and we refused to use UPS any longer. Our customers who paid for overnight service or 2 day service rarely ever got their merchandise in the delivery time specified by UPS. We lost customers because of UPS not being able to provide the service we paid for.

Since then when I order something for myself I try to avoid UPS at ALL costs, however sometimes it's unavoidable. If I pay for 2 day service it will always arrive on the 3rd day, and if it is something important I have to wait at home for UPS to come by otherwise they will just leave the package on my doorstep in plain view even it the service requires a signature. Considering I have some questionable neighbors this is a big hassle especially when they never meet their delivery schedules. Also you can not rely on their tracking info from their site, several times my package tracking number says that it has been scanned in by my local UPS station and is "Out for Delivery" and 2 days later it finally gets delivered.

Fed-Ex may cost a little more but they service is far superior to that of UPS, and always bend over backwards to meet the delivery service purchased by the customer.

UPS 2-day is usually 4-6 _business_ days, even if it's in the same state or one state over.

USPS Priority is often 1-3 days, depending on how far. I once had a package I dropped off on Saturday afternoon in California get to Virginia on Monday. Love USPS.

I HATE UPS. I will NEVER voluntarily ship with them.

The worst part about their "guarantee" is that the -shipper- has to claim it. With most businesses, the shipper won't bother.

UPS is the worst damn shipping company in the US.

One of my more recent experiences with UPS involved a package that showed up on their tracking as having been delivered - to my front door - during a time that I *know* I was home but never heard anyone come to the door. Most of the time around here packages are left on the front porch but the delivery guy (whether it's UPS, FedEx or USPS) will ring the bell to let you know they've been there.
I kept checking the front area of the house to see if maybe I'd walked past the package or something but never did find anything. I finally called UPS to find out what was going on since their site said it'd been delivered but it was sooooo not out there and I was told to call back after a certain time, when the driver would be back from his route. While I waited to make that second call, the package was finally found out in the driveway, outside the garage door, at the OTHER END OF THE HOUSE. I'd never even thought to look there because, strangely, nobody else has ever delievered packages to my garage door before. I can only assume that it wasn't the regular guy that day and the one who made the delivery was new to the concept of FRONT DOOR.
The only times I've used expedited shipping have been with a vendor that used Airborne Express and USPS and those times worked out fine. I'm not crazy about UPS for my own reasons but that little garage door adventure didn't help.
What can brown do for you? Drive you absolutely, drooling, babbling nuts.
I have UPS issues. I'm going to go breathe now.
