Did UPS 2 day delivery work for somebody ever?

That time that I got really mad at UPS because their drivers are too stupid to find the other "Lam" and ring for it, I had talked for good 2 hours, and their managers didn't offer a refund, nor offered to do the delivery at a time more convenient. He said it will be there on Monday, and I told him, my dad ain't got all day to wait for the package, and manage to make the damn driver to do it in the morning.
It was a big hassle to talk on the phone, waste my time on a couple of their minions who aren't allowed to do quality Customer Service work, and if you really have to complain about something wrong with their service, you really need to get their higher-ups.
I say avoid UPS at all cost.
However, I did have a good UPS service once. I had things shipped from Spyderco Factory Outlet, the thing came in 2 days (it was expedited), and the driver was delivered the package. I suppose this kind of service happens because Spyderco have a serious contract with them or something. Cost me 15USD plus customs brokerage though, not something that I wanna do all the time.

Very glad to here it all worked out semi-OK Vassili! My dad ordered me a BM 550 Sunday night on 2nd day air (UPS). The other package he ordered second day came yesterday, but the knife hasn't come yet. It's in Chelmsford MA right now according to tracking (been there since about 6 AM) and that's a stone's throw away from me (also in MA) so I think it'll get here. I'll let you know how that goes.

I really prefer USPS, and FedEx even more (one time on standard ground it got there the next day when I ordered from a same state shop in the AM!)

UPS is nothing but trouble.

All UPS and FedEx "air" shipments are guaranteed. If they haven't delivered on time - file a claim.

If you've used a corp account. . .i.e., UPS Store or some other mailing service outfit. . .you'll have to obtain your refund through them since it's their account.

And you really have to watch UPS and FedEx. . .they always have excuses (generally in an attempt to have the tide in their favor) of why they didn't deliver it on time.

These outfits make huge $$ by promising one thing and not delivering what was promised. . .especially when people don't file claims.

Dog'em - it's your hard earned frog skins ! :)

Heya, GigOne...

I know. I tried.

Only the shipper can file a claim. The receiver can't. Most of the time, the shipping company can't be bothered and will outright refuse to file a claim or reimburse shipping when the UPS 2-day package is late.

In fact, I've tried every time and none of them will do so.

Someone in this thread used the adjective "stupid" to describe UPS employees...that is really being kind.
