Did you ever get your childhood dream.

Yep, same feeling!

A local gun shop by me had a Barrett in stock for like $10,000! Man that thing was massive; it's literally a cannon with a bipod! I don't even know where I'd shoot that thing around here:confused:, most ranges around here won't even let you shoot .50AE:eek:.

Ten thousand is a pretty good deal on a Barrett, they usually go for twelve thousand if I recall correctly - and the ammo goes for an arm and a leg too.

Check out the Denel NTW-20, it fires the 20mm round... .78 caliber! Actual autocannons fire that round.

I wanted to live forever and in relative terms, as far as I can tell, since I was born- I HAVE !

Even sweeter than that is the fact that if my dream ever ends I probably won't know it and surely won't be around to complain about it ;)

I once saw an awesome mall ninja type camouflage brass knuckle style ( made of aluminum ) butterfly knife in a store while on vacation when I was around 10 years old. I showed it to my mom in the display case at the register and started begging, she bought it for me and gave it to me for Christmas. God I love that woman !

One of the neighborhoods I lived in growing up we lived across the street from two brothers I ran with. Their father was a knife distributor rep. He had display cases of Case, Buck, Schrade and misc. knives...the wood framed, standup, lighted floor displays, a couple with those revolving tray units.

All of this was in their garage and I used to spend hours trying to figure out how to get it all to my bedroom at home. And especially those beautiful hunting knives at the top of each display.

So no, I never got my childhood dream.

I hunt a bit with traditional archery gear I have to say when I put on the back quiver and walk in the woods or on our range a little part wants to shoot the Sheriff of Nottingham. I hope everyone tries to get at least something from there childhood because its so satisfying.

When I draw the sword from the saya and do some dumb ass goofy swings with it when no one is looking or just hold it, it really is great silly but great. I truly wish everyone to have that.

My childhood dream was to have a room full of knives - sooo many that I could use a different one almost every day and not worry about running out of knives. I guess I've gotten about as close as one could without owning a knife store - I've owned over 500 knives life-time and have regularly had between 150 and 275 knives in my collection at any given time.

I think that's going on my bucket list, along with shooting a 700 Nitro Express round or ten:D

Well yeah i guess... i do not recall having any specific dreams, just a fondness for quality tools
I got very good swords, one for cutting and one for poking things, i even have one being made that can do both, with silver decoration
I got a well balanced assortment of fancy mostly handforged axes
I got most folding knife types, wood, micarta, brass, axis, tri-ad, compression, red, blue, green, carbon, stainless, stainfree, up, down, banana

Nope. I'm still looking for the fancy OTF that Eric Roberts had in the movie The Specialist. I have tried to find out what knife that is for years but to no avail.

Might be a prop knife, Edge Co. has some similar bolstered models around that time. They weren't exactly high quality compared to what is available now, but they sure were built better than the "Lightning OTF knives".

I remember thinking Swiss Army knives were really cool when I was a kid.You know, the ones with the red scales and all the neat tools. I always wanted to know which model was the one issued to the troops. I now have three reds in my knife collection along with a Vic Soldier and a Wenger Standard Issue. So, I guess I have to say yes, I did get my childhood dream knife.

Emily Blunt is nice but Caroline Munro buttered my bread when I was young.

Still waiting. *sigh*

LOL...good stuff

To the OP, congrats on the sword. I haven't made my way into nihonto quite yet, need to wait until I make a lot more money than I do now.

If it doesn't have to be knife related, this probably belongs in another section. But that's none of my business.

I got to live one of my childhood dreams by driving the Nurburgring, a racing circuit in Germany. I've been into cars since I was a little kid and raced on that track for countless hours on video games.

A few years ago, I went to Europe with my uncle and did four laps in a 3-series BMW. It was a warm morning in late March without a single cloud in the sky, it was perfect. One of the greatest experiences of my life, no doubt.

Driving on Nurburing, I believe you, it must have been something you will never forget!

Ive alwasy wanted a Gerber LMF, the original or course. It was a bit pricey as a kid and my parents would get it for me. When I was older and had my own money, they were no longer in production. Well just last year I came across one at a gun show and just had to buy it! Its a fantastic knife, even though now days its quite large for a knife I would carry. But look good in the collection!

When I was a teenager looking at knives online in the early 2000s there were two that stood out to me: the Benchmade 710 and 730. Wanted those suckers so badly; didn't have the money. A couple years later the 615 came along and that one got added to the list too.

I kind of forgot about them for a while since I didn't have the money to burn on that sort of thing, and when I really started getting into knives a couple years ago I found out the 730 and 615 were both discontinued. But fortunately they're not impossible to find, especially with all of the recent LE 730s, and I managed to put the trio together:

Yeah, dreams come true. :D

I always wanted a low, long chopper style motorcycle. Now in my mid 40's, and with a kid I feel getting a motorcycle is a bad idea.

When I was in elementary school the library carried a science magazine (can't remember the name) that always had a Cold Steel ad in the back. I really wanted one of their tantos, but never did buy one.
