Did you get Dad a knife for FD?

Yup. Same with mine. All of the things I'm into, my dad isn't. My dad's just into keeping mom happy. Nothing I can give him would make that particular chore any easier!

Funny you say that. The one thing my Dad and I have in common is our love for cars and working on them.

I love to fish, hike, camp, play with knives :), etc. He's not in to any of that - come to think of it noone in my family really is.

Happy early Father's Day to all you dads out there.

Yes, an inexpensive S&W that I tuned up a little. He used to make knives, so I can't compete with those. So I just got him one he could carry easily and legally.

Interesting stories! My Dad told me; You should always have a knife on you. :)

Last year Pop got a S&W 44mag Mountain Gun...tough to top that one so it was a knife this year...lol.

I was kinda hoping he'd buy me a knife since I grew up without him. I'll give him a call and see what his budget is...

I actually did grow up without him around but we have a good relationship right now. Not so great that'll I'll buy him a knife when I can buy myself one though. His present will be a "Happy father's day" phone call.

My dad is definitely a knife guy, he gave me and my siblings each a Buck Alpha folder for our 72 hour bags at Christmas 2 years ago.

I bought my dad a CRKT Full Throttle from REI's Outlet for Fathers' Day. It looked very nice in the pictures and the price was great at $30. After I received it, I played with it, taking out the torsion bar and leaving it in and never really liked it. It went back to REI. I'm thinking a Spyderco Salt might be a better choice for him, impervious to salt water, bright handle, blunt tip, perfect for fishing in the Pacific.
