Since there is already a thread about what knives you got and especially since Christmas is a time for giving I thought I would ask if you gave any knives for Christmas?

I gave my dad a Supertool 200.

It isn't a knife, but I gave one of my co workers a neck sheath for his Spyderco Endura. I gave another co worker a neck sheath for his Spyderco Delica.

I tried to but bought the knife thru e-bay and ten days later it still isn't here.I gave My Son a print out of the bid award. From now on I'll only deal with Fellow Formites.tom.:(

What kind of knife is it?

That really sux. It shouldn't take 10 days. Hopefully he will get it soon.

I gave my dad a Black Chive and I am still waiting for a Next Generation Ranger Hawk from ATC that he is giving to me. Hurry up big brown truck. My mom gave my dad a knife as well. It is a Swiss Army knife with a altimeter and thermometer built into the handle. He had a very knife Christmas.

I gave my Dad a new Victorinox Brokers knife (very small gents knife) with his initials engraved on it. I'm glad he loved it, since it was replacing a Henckels gents knife that he'd been carrying for the past 50+ years. It's hard to go up against competition like that!

Gave my son an old, refurbished solingen hunter, stag and stacked leather, pretty common little piece, but a really nice user. The kicker was the custom sheath I made for it (with great love !!) He wasn't a nut before, but I may have started him on the dreaded slippery slope !
Hope everyone had a Merry,
MtMike

I was going to get my dad an Outdoor Edge skinner, but mom told me that he knew it would be a knife because that is what I always get him. I guess I sometimes expect that everyone likes knives as much as I do. :D

I figured the Supertool is kind of knife related and hopefully he can use it.

Actually, there is a thread with about 30 replies already on knives people gave for Christmas. Just click on the following link:

Gift Knives and their recipients: Let's hear about them

That's so funny, Dennis, that you had the same idea for a thread--and we just happen to both like Sebenzas--and happen to be currently trading different size Sebenzas.

Happy Holidays & Happy New Year everyone!

took a lot of doing but I was able to give each of my sons a buck vanguard master series overrun with BG-42 steel.it took at least 2-3 months of looking but finally found the second one online.

Great minds think alike! :D

Sorry about coming up with the same topic. I saw the one about getting knives. Looks like I need to do a seearch before I start posting topics.

My dad only carries Case, I'm sure we all know someone like this (read: stubborn).

His favorite model for EDC is the Farmer pattern. So, that's what he got. I was happy that he immediately put the new one in his pocket and put the old one in his sock drawer.

Thats the only knife I gave this year, although I technically gave myself several!

I gave my almost 16 year old daughter a Case Butter Bean with the natural bone handle. She was delighted. I am not too sure about the 420 stainless Case uses, but my daughter will just use the knife on rare occasions to open packages, etc., so steel quality shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Is there a better gift than a knife? I don't think so. I gave two of my best friends knives that I made. Not just knives that I pulled for Christmas but knives specifically made for them. There is a lot of emotion on all sides over these kind of gifts. I gave my daughter (age 21) a Spydercard with special engraving (I have a pantograph) and I gave my son (age 19) a Fairbairn- Sykes style dagger that was in Bob Enders personal collection. I don't know if he made it or not as it was unmarked. I got it from Mrs. Enders. These kind of gifts are very special and I really enjoy giving them. Brian

I gave my 16 year-old son my Old Timer 12-OT, and my 14 year-old son my Old Timer 34-OT. They liked getting knives that I had used. I was going to give the 14 year-old my 897-UH, but thought he would like the carbon steel better, as he is still learning to sharpen:)

My neighbors son who is in the Army stopped by for a beer on X-Mas eve, so I did what any decent guy would do and gave him a knife for Christmas. I gave him a Benchmade Pinnacle that was never even taken out of the box. He said it would probably be the best Christmas present he would get. Today I found out that his parents gave him the Beer of the Month Club. I guess the knife will have to take a back seat:rolleyes:
