I was in a kid's books store and saw an illustrated book of swords. It is really well done with some info on warrior culture, Sword making and sword fighting manuals.

My son really got into it. It was a refreshing gift than all the toys from China.

Anyone in your family receive something knife related?

My wife and oldest son got SAK Farmers. My second son got a whole leather pouch of firestarter toys. My youngest son got a toy SAK. I didn't get anything outdoor related unfortunately, but I had a very nice Christmas.

I have been giving my 10-yr old brother knowledge on and off. He wanted movies for Christmas so he got them, but his b-day is in January so he may get some survival gear. I will post pics of his kit soon.

Nope, but I gave my nephew a Spyderco Baly-Yo. I have to wait 'til spring to gift him a knife.

I all ,
Yes for Christmas I made and gave this knife to my niece:D.
Here is a pic of it. It is a PSKK (Personal Survival Kit Knife)

I gave my son in law a RAT-7 for his use as a primary survival knife.
In the past I have given my grandsons and granddaughter survival whistles, SAK knives, Compasses, Doan Fire Starters, and several fire starting training days.
One of the whistles saved one of my grandsons from being lost in the woods near Mt. St. Helens. He was 7 and nearly a 1/2 mile from us when he started blowing. He was known for wandering off. He and his parents still talk about it.

A good friend bought me a Cold Steel Bushman. Yes, I am already planning on forging one out in 5160!

One day while our daughters fiancee was over visiting her, I showed him my Becker BK-7 (Camillus version) and as he caressed it, his eyes fogged over and he started to drool a bit.:D Told the wife about it and mentioned that we should get him his very own survival knife, so we ordered up a Kabar/Becker 7, with it's black sheath and companion knife. Of course I openned it and checked everything out and I gotta say that I wasn't all that impressed with the sheath, but the knife seemed good and the little companion knife was cool too. He flipped when he openned it last night and I've never seen him smile so much. Well, next to when he asked our daughter to marry him. Also gave both my wife and daughter, Victorinox Cadet SAKs with the Alox scales.

I gave my Brother a SAK hunter.

I got my wife a Nitecore D10: something to let her see what she's pointing at, now she's about to get her first gun for home defence. (I guess that kinda counts as 'survival'...)

No knives, though. I should remedy that!

My five year old daughter got a toy SAK and a real one. The real one is for supervised use only for now. She also got a Red Ryder.

A young guy at work lost his knife and I gave him a Boy Scout knife I got at a garage sale and cleaned up. It was dirty and rusty and dull and now it's cutting cardboard and turning screws :)

My boys are gettin gear. My oldest a really nice rod and reel and a badass slingshot, middle is getin his first BB gun. A red Ryder no less(cmon what else could it have been for christmas?) Youngest has a Rod, and little tackle box. No blades for them though, the Izula I ordered for my 10yr old is still a no show. Got The Dangerous Book For Boys as a gift for all 3 of them.

This is on top of the truckload of toys and video games. (urban survival maybe? Hmm.:p)

Cant wait, we are having our christmas in the AM.:D:thumbup:
