Someone had seen my video on the Kershaw Piston - saying they were all ready to buy it now, but they found out its discontinued.
I was surprised and thought he had it wrong, until I looked around and it is discontinued. Since it was, I recommended to him to check
out the Kershaw Knockout. I recall one time asking Kershaw, I forget where, why no Piston II, and I mistakenly said something wrong on the
year it came out - and all they did was correct me on the year, and didn't give an answer why. What about everyone here...does
the Piston deserve a newer edition...or was the one Piston enough and lets move on? I like the Piston and would have liked to have
seen future incarnations of the knife.

I too had my mind set on this knife. Until when just a couple of months ago I went to buy it and found out it was discontinued.
So instead, I bought a ZT0566. Glad things worked out this way. Love the flipper and the assist together.

I picked up a factory 2nd Piston and it's a good knife for the money. It's a bit bigger than I normally carry, but other than that I like it. No idea why it wasn't more popular.

The Piston was a good, solid, well-designed knife, but I think the materials and country of origin sealed it's fate as much as anything. Let's face it, the Kershaw line right now is probably 95% inexpensive imports aimed more at big box stores than collecters. And the USA produced models they've kept in the lineup are the bigtime sellers or the autos (and making autos overseas brings with it a host of complications, like the inability to import them to the USA), so I think the Piston was just a victim of attrition.
