I found one of those OSS Cold Steel carbon V knifes with the extra guard on the handle and the double sharpened 8- 1/2" blade at one of those trader flea markets NIB for 45 bucks. Wouldn't have bought it but there's not going to be anymore of these USA made ones so was this a good buy?

Good to see you Jill.

With so much going overseas, $45 sounds reasonable to me. Do you have any pictures of that knife?

I've seen the knife before but that's just an internet "storefront" pic (if that's the right term). Take a photo or two of it. They're more real and you can see the knife more clearly. Anyway, I still say $45 is easy for that knife.

Yeah. She's still sparking camp fires and cooking eggs in the ash. I'm teaching her to sharpen her mini-Candian now (convex edge). It's slow going.

I'd have to get my mom to take the picture and post it as believe it or not I don't even have a digital camera. I'll ask her when she gets home.

Jill, I hate to break it to you but that knife isn't Carbon 15. It was originally released in 400 something stainless and I'm pretty sure it stayed that way. I'd like to be wrong on this. Perhaps someone can correct me. Joe

If mom can get them up I will post some knives in a little bit. I'm not really into posting pictures online, but she claims she can do it.

Heres the Cold Steel with a few others for the people that don't like Cold Steel.
Blade Tech Rijbak, ZT0200, Kershaw XXL Starky, OSS Cold Steel, Spyderco Starmate, Benchmade AFCK, Mircotech Scom '98.

Very nice collection Jill. I'll have to take your word for it. I've never seen a Carbon V Cold steel Sub hilt fighter. They stopped sending catalogs a few years ago. Joe

Very nice! That double guard has a diefferent look to it. I especially like the Spyderco and BM folders.

I got a lot more but they are mostly CRKT,Cold Steel and others, thats pretty much my best I posted.

Jill, I see you don'y play favorites. You get knives you like as long as they are quality. I have a few of the same knives, and the same philosophy. I was wondering which blade steel the Microtech has. That's an older one. I have one from a 03 sprint run that has S90V. Real nice knives, and very sharp out of the box. I also have the same color Ti Bump, The Tomcat 3, The Persian, Manix, Buck Strider tanto, Spyderco ATR and Yojimbo. Probably a few more. No Dark ops here though. Joe

The Micro is 154cm. -The Darkops was purchased before I ever came here and ran into how taboo it is with so many at this site. It's just a knife not a way of life and I don't see where it's all that bad of a knife. Aside from the obvious similarity to Extreme Ratio and Frank Miller's hype it's just a another decent blade.

Jill, I was just kidding. You obviously have good taste in knives, and don't need me to tell you that anyhow. Thanks for the info on the MT. That's what I thought it would be. A good steel. I have a MT OTF double action with 154cm and they do it well. I like the Socom better because I can carry it here without worries.

Do you have a favorite? That G10 ( I think) handled Spyderco police plain edge is one of the rarer knives you have from what I see. They all look to be nice condition.

I can't post any pictures of my stuff as my ex wife took the camera with her and I don't feel like it's a priority to replace right now. I'm pretty much carrying the Socom, Endura in ZDP, Millie, Caly 3 ZDP, and a Kershaw Blur SG2. Those seem to be my most carried ones, so I guess they'ed be my favorites now. See ya. Joe
