'Dies The Fire' giveaway

I received two copies of the novel 'Dies The Fire' by S.M. Sterling for Christmas. I'll send one free to anyone who wants to read it, just email your postal address to me...then pass it around.

To recap the story, something like an electromagnetic pulse wipes out all energy, disabling cars, planes, firearms. People revert to medieval survival skills, including cannabalism. A good survival/adventure read.

that sounds a lot like the series written by Tim Lahaye and Jerry B.Jenkins, the first book is titled 'left behind'
 
Another book of similar genre is Swan Song. Very good!!!! Would pass it around to the guys here, but it's already on a pass around somewhere....

Swan Song is great, it's a fairly close copy of Stephen King's "The Stand" only Swan Song was better to me!

I have to agree. I am a Stephen King fan, but Robert R. McGammon got this one right.

Now, if I could get past the pricetag on "Patriots", I'd love to do a passaround on it. But $45-$85 is hard to passaround.:(
 
I agree, Swan Song was great. Just finished the stand (second longer edition, 1100+ pages) and fully enjoyed it, but Swan Song was better.

Have to check the library for Dies the Fire.

I am reading it right now, slowly. My mother-in-law gave it to me for my birthday. She found it for around $40 online. That is the cheapest I've seen it though. I have to say that it is worth the $ if you are considering information for survival preperation on a large scale.:thumbup:

A Meeting at Corvallis - published September 2006

A trilogy set in the world that the island of Nantucket left behind when it became an "Island in the Sea of Time". This world is hit by "The Change" causing electricity, high gas pressures, and fast combustion (including explosives and gunpowder) to stop working.
This is very bad news for the majority of the population, but the books follow some of the survivors and show how different groups choose different ways to adapt to the changed world.

Notice: There will be a second trilogy set about 25 years later ("The Sunrise Lands", "The Scourge of God", "The Sword of the Lady") published 2007/2008/2009.

Liam, check with Ashtxsniper. He gets it first, then you can make arrangements to get it from him, then you can pass it on to somebody else. This is starting to sound like work :)
