Difference between spyderco fine and ultra fine stone

I polished one side of my fine with silicon carbide grit and an old tile rubbing stone. Took a loong time and had to constantly add more grit as it pulverized down into paste, but it smoothed out, is visibly smoother/finer than the fine side and shows in use.
 
I'm wondering how long this finer finished ,sided ceramic stone last...? My money is on 'quite sometime.' It's an approximate still I gave mine a one sided finer finish in 2010 and that side is noticeably finer today. DM
