Difference..Micarta/G10

I much prefer micarta, and dought I'll ever buy another fixed blade with G-10.

I like the warm soft feel of micatra, the grip while wet or bloody, and the light wieght. Even on a small knife like a GW I can feel that micarta is lighter than G-10.

G-10 is as tough as it gets though, and can be had in great colors.
Its just not for me, but its great that we have so many great options these days.

I like micarta more than G10. I am in the 'G10 has more of a plastic feel' camp. I think micarta 'feels' warmer and 'softer'.

G10 is a bit heavier, has more defined colors and patterns, has more defined ridges on machine texturing, is even closer to indestructible than the already-very-tough micarta, and has a smoother feeling surface on polished areas.

I like both micarta and G10. They both are nice in their own ways. I'm happy with either.

One more vote for micarta, because it feels better- softer & warmer during cold weather field dressing, yet plenty grippy.
G10 feels like cheap plastic- even though I know it's not cheap.

it didn't seem that long ago that busse was micarta-only, but i have a feeling it's been at least a few years. man, i'm getting old :)
