Differences between low(er) and high(er) serial numbered 0560CBCF's

These two might be the only one different, but I don't know. These are just some differences I detected between the two

The lower numbered CBCF (219) brazing line is darker than the higher numbered one (582) It almost looks like it's not flush with the rest of the blade.

Another thing I noticed between them is that the CF has a different "texture" between them. The lower numbered CBCF is completely smooth, while the higher numbered one has "ridges"

The lower numbered CBCF

The higher numbered CBCF

And the last thing I noticed is that the steel on the lower one is more matte than the higher one. (It may be from the lower one being carried and used) You may be able to tell in the pic

FAMILY PHOTO!!

(the one without the lanyard is Jaytaylor's)
I'M NOT QUESTIONING THE QUALITY BETWEEN THE TWO, IT'S JUST SOMETHING I NOTICED

I'd like to know if your CBCF's have these differences.

Every knife is going to be different, I'm sure if you had 50 they'd all have slight differences. Kids have to much time on there hands lol

I'm just messing with you lol... Mine are different too, one has some guys name on it...

The one I've been using is #0039 and the copper weld line is pretty prominent. I can see the copper, and it's pretty flush. I don't detect or notice any ridges on the CF either.

I'll go with Chet's assessment that the variances are more so per blade than serial number placement. These were a single run, and not like the standard 0560s that have variances due to batches being very far apart (0091 to 4293 for example).

That makes sense.

Thanks and I can't wait to get this in my hands, I'll bet it will be the only 0560CBCF in the whole country.

The only difference between the two I've seen (4xx and 1029 serials) is the brazing line is almost imperceptibly thinner on 1029. Like, a quarter of a hair.

Very nice, I'd love to have one of each variation just for the sake of a variance in the same model! I love the looks of both of them. Maybe I'll luck out and accomplish that, we'll see.

I'm still really curious about the 1029 deal.

Both of them are neat. The ridges in the CF of the higher serial gives it a nice feel, and the bronze looking brazing line on the lower serial stands out much better. I like that everyone is getting a CBCF with their own unique qualities.

No problem. Supplying the only CBCF in New Zealand sounds awesome.

This reminds on of a Flight of the Conchords episode -

The scene: Asking for a gun from the New Zealand consulate (Murray): “Is there a New Zealand government gun?” Consul answer: “Yes, but the army has that.”

Who has the New Zealand 0560CBCF?

What is a blem?

A blem is a factory second....It doesn't pass QC, so it's sold without warranty for a discounted price.

1029??? I was under the impression that this knife was limited to only 1000 pieces! I am not very happy about that since that reduces the rarity that much more. I would like to know what the actual production number ended up being.

Hey for all we know, there's 3000 of them out there. :p
