Diggin' in the scrap bin

I was thinking about cleaning up the shop a bit the other day and got to looking in the scrap bins where I've tossed little pieces of scrap and leftovers through the years.

My mom had recently asked me to make her a letter opener and the wheels started turning. H-m-m, maybe I could use some of this junk. It ended up being a fun little project. It gave me a chance to brush up on my dagger grinds, and used up some of the castoffs that have been piling up around the shop. I was kinda pleased with the results, and thought I'd share it with you guys.

Doggonit Terry! Now there you go again! Just when I think I am really making headway with keeping my grindlines straight and even someone like you makes a really nice looking blade like that out of scrap!

Just because the river is still doesn't mean that the alligators have gone.

Wow, Moma's gonna love that ole scrap piece!!! How do you keep the center line so darn straight??? Thats the only thing keeping me from making daggers.

Always think of your fellow knife makers as partners in the search for the perfect blade, not as people trying to compete with you and your work!http://www.nebsnow.com/L6steel

Wow, I wasn't expecting to get this many replies. Thanks for all the kind words everyone. You gave me a well needed confidence boost.
