Hope to get the biggest blade I've done hardened up this w/e. I'll be playing with the "Quenchall" brand stuff from McMaster Carr. I'll give a report on it soon.

Other than that, just keep on dreaming.

What ya'll up to?

Cripes Mark, you must set the alarm early! I don't even hear any birds yet...

I'm afraid this is a domestic weekend for me. Buncha yard work and then starting to put the roof back on my garage. Hey, anyone wants to come work real hard Saturday I'll buy pizza and beer. (I'm holding my breath) :D

Going to Tandy Leather today for a few supplies. Working on a sheath for the big D2 knife. Some groundhog hunting Sat. morning. Sun. we're going to a suprise 70th birthday get together for my Aunt and Uncle. Counting down the days until deer season. :D

Down to the weld store for a bottle of oxygen today. Back to the press Saturday. Probably some BBQ in there some where.

My partner is HT 14 blades and I'm finish grinding on 9 and handling 6. Have to fit in my daughters dental appt. today and have to get my Harley running right for the weekend. also have two quizes for collage to take. Just got in 4 bars of 2 inch S60V and trying to decide what to make in stainless. Of course I need some FO time to just lay around. Going to make some smothered squirrel for supper so to the slow cooker I go.

You gotta 2 way plane ticket to Iowa from Texas? I'll take it :D
Ya have to let me play in your shop afterwards! :p

Mowing a little today, then gonna be out of town until monday.
I made a little folder kit, and I get to give that to the person for their VERY belated birthday.

Hehe, we used to call that, "Foxtrot Oscar" when I was a serviceman, Kim. :D

Working on a big fat bowie blade today. Going to take the Missus out for some pints tonight at the pub.

This WE I go on a search for a beltsander, last WE I scored a nice set of
small files of all shapes at a yard sale (those crazy rick people throw
the darnest things away:p ). So everyone keep your fingers crossed
for me that I will find a good cheap one.....Yes cheap and its all your
faults you keep making me buy your knives.........Da*n your mind power.

oh yeh sat morn is the day to take trash to the dump, fun city :barf:

today I will be finding out if the 2 airconditioners will knock the 110 degree heat in my shop down some. I set a timer to cut it on around 2o'clock, so it will be cool(I hope) by the time I roll in from working at my day job................

We have the worlds biggest yard sale right in our back yard, so we'll be heading out there for a bit. All along Highway 127 from Ohio to Alabama, by way of Kentucky, Tennessee, and Goergia, about 450 miles in all.

Last year I scored a bunch of misc. tools, a couple nice little knives, and some clothes for the wife. I think we spent about 20 bucks, and 30 or so on gas  .

Hopefully some shop time too, gotta grind a few, and HT one. Also have tentative plans for a forging buddy to come over at some point.

We'll see what happens

Jon

I spent the whole day at work today making a new tongue for a hay wagon. I only set myself on fire once, and managed to finish another day with the shack still standing after running the torch and welder.
Came home and did a little grinding on a knife. Probably go do some heat treatin here in a little bit since its cooled off pretty nice outside from the rain today.
Somehow I got roped into playing in a family golf tournament tomorrow. I guess you'd have to know me to realize what a friggin joke this is going to be. I think I've played golf twice before in my entire lifetime, and my best shot of the day the second time was managing to spin the cart at least 2 full turns after going down a steep hill, and sliding it to a stop right next to my ball. I got ahold of some used clubs cheap, don't have a driver or putter, but wasn't planning on using them anyway. I can hit 180 yards sideways with a 7 iron and figure that will be about enough. Might stick one of the extras in the forge tonight and flatten it out a little bit for putting with
I don't even know the name of the course, but if you guys are out playing a round this weekend and see some big redneck in a Git R Done hat trying to throw their teamate off the side of the cart....its probably me :D
Don't know what sunday will bring. I guess it depends on how much trouble I get in tomorrow.

Oh glory, for the first time since Massa Mark invented Dingus Day, I have something real to add to it!!!!!!!
This is what I worked on this Dingus Day and will be working on this weekend.

Got me a real good commercial fan for the shop and mounted it on the wall today. Got so chilly in there today I put my apron on and turned the fan down a notch.
Sure feels grand to be back at knifin!

We upgraded to fo to keep it short. Just ground out 3 bowies over 10 inches long. Hey brian shouldn't you be grinding. Did the AC work??

Tram my new used little mini-mill and get it otherwise set up.
Assemble my nasty stuff bench.

There's really a chance that I'll be able to start grinding in this shop next weekend!

You know that they make washing machines for your nasty stuff!! :barf:

yeah baby!! AC put on a timer had the shop at a cool 85 degrees...pretty good for me! Now I better get to shaping 4 handles today

The pool got 3/4 filled today, when I get home it will be full!

I got a knife from Scott at Razorback Knives, along with a hatchet! My father saw it, and wants it, so now I have to hide the knife for a while until he forgets about it.
