Jon, funny you mentioned that giant yardsale. My wife was just asking about that because she saw something about it on TV last night. My son and I were in KY, GA, and AL on a business trip some years ago and stopped at some of the Ysales during the giant highway sale. When does that start, and how long does it run, now? My AC for my shop was given to one of our kids for his apartment. How generous of my wife. The kid earns twice as much as I do. Anyhow, yesterday, I had so much to do, I just went fishing. It's an old Indian thing. When you have really lots of stuff you have to do, you settle it by going hunting or fishing. Then, I got home, cleaned up, and took wife and daughter out for supper. Today, it's a bit of shop and then off to a small town catfish fish fry at Oquawka, Ill. Tomorrow, it's back to the shop and put a hunter together, cut out and grind a CPM420V guthook, and then order some more supplies. Yep, my 3 day weekends are great.synghyn said:We have the worlds biggest yard sale right in our back yard, so we'll be heading out there for a bit. All along Highway 127 from Ohio to Alabama, by way of Kentucky, Tennessee, and Goergia, about 450 miles in all.
Last year I scored a bunch of misc. tools, a couple nice little knives, and some clothes for the wife. I think we spent about 20 bucks, and 30 or so on gas.
Hopefully some shop time too, gotta grind a few, and HT one. Also have tentative plans for a forging buddy to come over at some point.
We'll see what happens
Jon
