  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Diomedes Industries has a new Dangler Release Buckle - Thoughts?

That's a well designed and engineered bit of kit, really enhances the maker's and wearer's choices too.

A terrific find which must feel well worth the search!

This allows for a SAK small blade, or any other small blade to take off this dangler in the field - put the screw back in, and store it in your pack. I will also be doing the Chicago Screw to retain strength and versatility for my sheath systems. I listed to those on this board - any words?

Your sheaths are top notch. I have farted around making them for years, so I know how much you put into them.

I just have no love at all for danglers. The last thing I want is to need two hands to get my blade out. I can't fathom even wanting to mess around like this switching out things in the field, taking out screws, etc. - wow.
To each his own.

Sawgrass - I never have to use two hands to get mine out. I don't make them snap that tight. I ensure one handed release.

Rotte,

It is EXTREMELY tight. I have thought about that - and a drop of super glue would stop that, until you needed to get it out.

I could not find any that fit my criterion.

Don't give up, there are smaller versions available if you like different styles, they don't all have to be longshoremen duty ready.

http://www.bosunsupplies.com/productshackle.cfm (it took me an hour to find this) It isn't easy to find, but i had a place next to me when i lived in the south that sold these smaller ones and they are AWESome gear. There is another i think the Jensen shackle, that has an H pattern, and two bolts one on top and one on the bottom of the H.

Hope it helps with some options.

Now - if I gave away ALL my secrets - where would my business edge go?!

I’d say, among this crowd, it’s more like “casting your bread upon the waters”, a feeling of indebtedness among good people can be a powerful thing :)

I appreciate the link, I am constantly searching for good hardware. I’ve taken to using black wrought iron “D” rings and buckles for much of my leather work. It matches the primitiveness I try to embody in my stuff.
