Well, I started the previous post by apologizing for the "bump," but I was amazed to find this thread HERE in the first place. Granted, I may not have a "right" to say anything about HI until I actually own one, but I did a sh*tload of research before I wound up here, and everyone -- and I mean EVERYONE -- that wrote a review of HI khuks had nothing but high praise. Seriously,
I registered on Blade Forums to be able to pick you guys' brains about HI. Plain and simple.
Cobalt, I get your point, but I think you may have missed mine...
I didn't salivate waiting for the KH knife to get to me. I wasn't anxious when I ordered it. There wasn't a feeling of anticipation like this, that I was about to receive something precious, a real treasure of craftsmanship.
At this point, I can't be all fired up about the substance of the HI khuk, because I don't have it yet. I am fired up about the ideology that drives this company, the way that they present their product and the incredible care and concern that they display for the artists who make them. In my experience, that sort of implemented ethic almost always pays off, in substance as well as theory.
And I don't think this thread is in bad taste. I think excellence shines best when held up in comparison to others, and I think it's totally appropriate for people to discuss the differences in the products between these two manufacturers. HI seems to be doing a good job of establishing its pre-eminance over the competiton, so how is this a bad thing?
