Does a larger or smaller wheel slow the belt speed down. Was thinking of changeing my drive wheel on the little hf 1 x30 . If I go a little smaller will that slow the belt speed down or am I thinking backwards.
 
May have to do more modding than just the drive wheel replacement, as changing the wheel size can also effectively keep you from putting your belts on and have proper tension. One of the other wheels would have to be moved to make the belt fit properly again, and ultimately may not slow it down enough to be an appreciable difference.
 
Here is a handy dandy pulley calculator, put in the speed of your motor using the small pulley and it will give you SFPM of the belt below in green letters, decrease the size of that pulley and you will get the new SFPM number so you can see what you have gained
