Direware lock super stiff

I have recently acquired a early version of Direware Solo. I like the beefy feel and the nonflipper blade of it over the newer versions. But the lockup is late (around 55%) and SUPER ROCK HARD to disengage. Sometimes even using two hands the lock bar could not be easily bent back. I am wondering if this is normal for Direwares and is there any way to fix it (late lockup and stiff lock bar)? Thank you everyone.
