disabling the assisted opener of a boa

I don't if you've tried yet but some Kershaws don't have a detent hole/noch in the tang to hold the blade closed. to check, watch the lock bar just as the blade closes. it should move a small amount closer to the blade.

with knife blade open, take apart and pull out spring bar and put back together. *put the bar in a zip lock bag and label it. I'm getting old and this helps me remember!
