Yeah - what the hell....no reason leaving trash around like that. Very likely was some kids. The big cow bone is a bit of a mystery though.

Cool blades. That really chaps my ass seeing that kind of crap out in the woods. I have a friend that is a drinking buddy of mine that I decided to go camping with one time. I spent the weekend cleaning up after him - I'll never spend time in the woods with him again.

 Slobs.

Their parents should be kicked in the junk for not teaching them any better. No ethics at all.

I don't think kids would haul in a slab of beef and set up a spit. I think it was grownup slobs.

Bugs the hell out of me too. I've kicked people off my boat to make their own way home for tossing a beer can in the river. I don't necessarily agree with the folks who espouse leaving no trace of your presence in the woods, but please pick up your trash.

In my experience - The grown up idiots are much worse than the not-so-grown up idiots. I just can't imagine hauling that much beer up there to sit around and drink.

Probably a good thing they weren't there when you showed up.

Kids today:grumpy:

I've packed out Hamms cans from the BWCA as recent as last summer, god only knows how old they were.

Good on you for taking the initiative to clean it up.

Thanks for the pix and I love the blades.:thumbup:

bigtime...there always will be the unwashed trash leaving their beer and garbage behind...see it all the time when i hike/fish in the sierras...

and i do mean the unwashed; mad dog 20/20 is the cheap drug of human trash...:barf:

while their actions were despicable, thats not enough beer for one Canadian for an hour :D

For those of you who aren't familiar with MD 20/20..... it's pretty much a step up from going to the hobby shop for a tube of glue to sniff.

Or one American :thumbup::p

He said there was about a case up there. F'n turds. Stay home and drink if you can't freakin' clean up.

Pigs.
I'm sorry you had to suffer the trash left by others in your special place. Kind of feels like someone gut shot the last unicorn doesn't it?
Thanks for taking it upon yourself to try to clean up after them. You're doing the right thing though you'll receive little gratitude and less glory.
Seeing that mess depresses me. But thanks for the photos of those very nice blades and your well packed kit. That kind of lifts my spirits some.
You say the track was only about 2 and a half inches? I don't know where in the USA you are, but it could have been a bobcat. The snow looks like it was wet "packing" snow when the track was made and a lynx would have much more hair between the pads leaving a less distinct impression of the individual pads, and a mountain lion would be a heck of a lot bigger.
The leg bone looks like it may have just been left for effect. Cooking such a chunk of beef over an open fire would have seared the bone alot more just to get the meat beyond bloody rare.
And I agree with bushman, that really isn't enough beer and rotgut to satisfy more than a couple of our Canadian brothers or one thirsty (not choosey)) Vermonter.

Your track appears to have nails showing; it’s a canine of some variety...

If that meat had been brined for several days, like 20, like the Latinos do, it could have cooked up like that.;)
The "wine" selection is appropriate too.:barf:

I have a plan to make whoever it was think twice about returning.
S&R tags about the area and get a roll of crime scene tape around the pit. I'll leave it up thru winter.
