I'm sending it back for repair ..... I wish they had a FreePost address to save me wasting even more money

There's nothing wrong with venting on the forums here.
And I for one want to know when any knife related product has QC problems.
But have you contacted Leatherman about the problems?
Have you called their toll-free service line and explained the problems?

BTW, Where did you buy this particular Leatherman?

I usually buy my multi-tools at Walmart or Target because I can return them if I'm not happy without any delays or problems.
