Well I have been debating on whether to post this here or not and well I think my temper is getting the best of me so I am going to. I have had a few dealings with Brian at Discount Knives over the years and most of them have been good. Now however I have an experience that I would just soon forget. I had purchased a CRKT M18 from his company early in Dec. Read good things about them etc. So decided I needed one. The knife arrived promptly and at first I was enamoured with it. Very big and very sharp right out of the box. Over the course of a couple of days of studying it etc. I found the liner lock to be defective to the point of being unsafe without the LAWKS engaged. Contacted him and followed his instructions as to return shipping with his response letter(email) in the box. It was mailed on 12/11 via USPS with a confirmation and tracking #. Emailed him in kind. I was all set up to purchase a BM 800 in it's place. I have an older one and just plain like it. Didn't hear anything from him other than the fact that he had the 800 ready to ship. I emailed back requesting instructions on how to get the 800. Could we substitute knives, new order generated or what the difference in cost between the two would be. Never heard a thing. I emailed his company and him 11 different times trying to confirm his reciept of the M18, which I knew was delivered on 12/15, at 12:50 pm. Finally after no response of any kind and recieving my Am Ex bill with no credit less shipping as per his policy for the M18 I shouted at him in my email and finally called Am Ex to dispute the bill for the amount of the M18. I mean I don't want to pay for something I don't have right? Now after Am Ex starts an investigation I am getting emails from him stating that I shouldn't have called Am Ex to dispute the bill, he would have credited my acct. etc. It is to the point now that he and I will not do business with each other in the future. In all of this I was trying to be civil, I tried to contact him and his company via land line. His business had no phone # and the phone for the Bosun's Locker no one answers. Just pissed now. I have dealt with dozens of companies on the net and individuals as well and well have never had a problem like this. Not even from Botach Tactical. I have to give business dealings with Discount Knives and Brian as less than satisfactory. There are to many good companies out there to deal with not to be put through the wringer like this. I can post all of my email communications with him if need be with no responses until I indicated to him that I contacted Am Ex. Keep'em sharp
