I just traded for a para in black coated s30v from coletrane811! My first high-end spyderco. It is used and has a little wear, he said 90%, which is fine. Now I can really use it with out any guilt.

When it arrives on Friday, first thing I'm going to do is clean it. I'm afraid I won't put it back together correctly!! Do any of you have pics of this process?

Be very careful with getting the lanyard tube out.

I am pretty sure spydiedave use to have a video on youtube on how to take it apart, but I just checked and couldn't find anything.

i took mine apart, and just left the lanyard loop attached and rotated the scales. my blade was way offcenter before, but now it is only slightly offcenter. i also rounded the edge off of the blade above where it hits the stop pin, you know how it is quite a sharp edge when closed. just be careful to not touch the area where the lockup occurs.

anyways, it seems as the factory used red loctite, does anyone else reccomend this for any of the screws? mine had it on all the screws besides the pocket clip.

also, it seems that the pivot torx size(size 8 as per spyderco) are somewhat loose in terms of fitting your torx driver. benchmades always fit nice and tight, but the pivot seemed to be somewhat loose on the driver and very slightly marred the teeth. i have a great bit set from craftsman, american made and hard steel, and like i said it fits everything else tightly. just thought it was weird. i am going to call up spyderco and see if i can order some new ones.

It is very simple to put together.. yet a PIA to tweak... After you put it together.. Adjust it to your liking. And then put the clip on.. I find the the clip often makes the knife slower..
