does anyone have any disassembly pics of their endura. i was going to put my waved blade into a black scales.. i wanted to edit this.. its not that taking apart the knife is difficult. i have read that centering the blade can cause problem.. are the washers difficult to align?

i think there are some good pics of a delica dis/reassembly on the spyderco forums somewhere I think the endura would be the same..

How could the washers be difficult to align? You put them where they go.... And there isn't much else to say about it.

The only rather tricky part is putting the backspacer back in. If you reassemble the knife sandwich-style (start with one scale and work your way up), then your backspacer isn't going to go into the nipple of the last scale. This can cause problems later.

What I recommend is that you put the backspacer and spring in, put the blade in, then put the scales together. Close it up almost like it's done. Now slide the lockbar in (you're going to have to push; there will be tension.) I recommend having the lockbar D-Bolt ready in the scale, but not going through. Then when you put the lockbar in, push the D-Bolt against the table to get it to go through. Now tighten it and finish everything up.

Tip: don't tighten the lockbar's D-Bolt too much. It can actually increase the tightness on the blade as if you were tightening the pivot. Get your pivot screw tightened to where there's little/no horizontal play (and it still closes smoothly, i.e. it sucks itself back into the handle easily while closing). Then work on the lockbar's screw until it starts affecting the blade's ability to close itself/suck itself back into the handle.

I put a waved delica blade into a g-10 handle. I found it easier to just unscrew the one screw that holds the blade in to switch blades then take the whole knife apart because it is a little difficult getting the back spacer and such back together. I used a needle to line up the washers and the hole in the blade. I'm not really a knife expert though so I have no idea if this was the best way to go about doing it, but I really like my knife now.

That's what I like about the method I mentioned, though: it doesn't involve needles or tweezers or anything (this is assuming you do the blade last). Also, the G10 E4/D4 should be easier to put back together since the backspacer is metal instead of FRN; I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think it will flex enough when under tension, meaning you can reassemble it sandwich-style.

I never though of putting the knife back together like this. I just tried it on an FRN delica and it was much easier. Thats good advice.
