Discoloration on liner of GB

My GB has a spot on the liner that is discolored- right where the finger notch is. It looks like when you hold a torch to copper and it changes color (brazing?). Anyone else see this sort of thing? I'm not complaining -it looks pretty cool- just wondering what it is.

If I remember correctly they said it was from heat treat.... and it's left there cause it looks nifty:)

My AR has it there as well.

I think it is marks from where they put the ball bearing in the liner. There is a small ball bearing in the liner lock to keep from scrubbing your blade and making marks. Look at the base of your blade there should be a small holw in the blade... I think the bear also fits into that hole to help retain the blade while it's closed. I have a sebenza that has these same strange scars on the integral lock and it's right at the bearing. look inside the liner you can see the little ball.

According to Mick. It is present because of the heat treat. He also added that he thought it looked cool so they left it on.

Thanks guys. I agree with Mick that it looks cool.

BTW, did I mention how unbelievable these knives are!!?? The AR/GB are like no other folders out there. They are TANKS! And sharp- I never cut myself with other knives, but Strider always bite me the day they arrive. I get the (slightly unnerving) impression they are showing me who's boss.
