I had this knife finished but couldn't keep the handle clean. I first tried a ca finish but didn't like the results. I sanded it back down and up to 1000. Buffed with a clean buff and white rouge. As you can see one side is perfect and the other looks dingy and discolored or "crappy" for short. Any idea what caused this? Will overheating cause it?

You can scrub it with a paste of baking soda, Dawn, and water. Use your fingers to scrub it.
Rinse well, then apply a coat of paste wax.

No rouge on that stuff.

Sand, and then polish papers use water or wd40 to float the particles, rinse repeat etc.

Here is a better pic. The scales are clean. I have washed them a few times and also cleaned with acetone.

This is why I come to this forum, y'all are awesome. I took it back down to 80 and went up through 1500 with wd40 and then a little carnuaba wax. It looks great! Thanks!
