Does anyone know whats happened to Discount Knives? I have tried to telephone for 2 days straight and the phone has been busy continually.

What has happened? I have tried many many many times and not once managed to get through to them on the 'phone. It works fine over the 'net though.
 
I've had the same frustrating problem. I've had no problems with email and ordering over the net though.

Try emailing Brian <brian@discountknives.com>. I wasn't able to get through by phone either, but I sent my order online last Monday from his website and I now have a new Spyderco Starmate! Brian's a great guy!

Brian has been very responsive in emails. I've emailed him a couple times in the last couple of days. I suggest you try that.
 
I've done two orders with Brian this month. He's very good about responding to e-mail, but his phone system is lacking. Flip him an e-mail if you have questions or just order through the secure server. Been real happy with DiscountKnives so far.

In the time since I became a member here, I've read several threads concerning <A HREF="http://www.discountknives.com">Discount Knives</A>, and there is a recurring theme that Brian is generally easy to reach by email, but hard to reach by phone. (Given Brian's rep for personal attention, his phone is <EM>naturally</EM> going to be tied up a lot.)

My own experiences with DK have been positive. (There <EM>was</EM> one occasion recently where I ordered 2 pair (ie, 4) Boker training knives, and he assumed that I must have expressed myself badly, and so only sent and billed me for 1 pair. But, hey, I regard that as NBD. I'll put another pair in my next order.) I regularly recommend <A HREF="http://www.discountknives.com">Discount Knives</A> and <A HREF="http://www.abc-direct">ABC-Direct</A> to my friends.

I ordered some knives on 10/20 across Brian's
secure server. Received the order yesterday,
10/22. It don't get any better than that.
Way to go Discount Knives (Brian)!!!!

If Brian's telephone is busy, he is likely discussing the attributes of a certain knife with someone. When he's speaking with you he's not hurried at all. In fact, you get the feeling that you are his only call that day.
I ordered a Navigator and Toad over his secure server Monday and had them Wednesday.
I do not think he has any other employees. The fact that he continually delivers immediately, spends time talking with customers and usually has items in stock is
a real plus with me.
I always try to support that kind of service and will always recommend Discount Knives to any shopper.

Brian, Im sorry if I created a problem. Thanks for e-mailing me back and thanks for shipping my knives today. I did not know that you were a one man operation and I can understand that you must be very busy since you have the best prices I have seen so far. Thanks again. Walker
