Hi All,

I ordered a Spyderco Lil Temperance from Brian at DiscountKnives on 6/18/02. The knife never came. The details of this are here:

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=210754

Brian/DiscountKnives.com never returned one e-mail or request for assistance after a one-liner that said my knife was shipped on 6/19. Not one! I e-mailed him five seperate times.

Brian just refused to deal with the situation. No refunds, no offers of a replacement knife, nothing. I had to have my credit card company reverse the transaction, which they did yesterday. The whole thing took a lot of time and was aggravating.

This was my third order from DiscountKnives.com. While they have great prices, their lack of any kind of follow-up service made me miserable. I recommend you shop elsewhere!

If you must buy from DiscountKnives.com, make sure you get UPS shipping or some other trackable shipping method, not their standard shipping method of USPS Priority with no delivery confirmation.

There have been complaints before, I had one mildly bad transaction- I don't think these kind of guys who have lowest prices should deserve our business if they have inconsistent record. What good is UPS if the problem isn't with the deliverer? wether UPS or USPS the problem is with Brian
Of course as long as Brian (or Botach or whoever) offers the lowest price on something, buyers will come:rolleyes:

I've had several purchases over the past few years with Brian and Discount Knives and have always gotten my knife in a timely manner.

There have been times when a few days passed between email replies, but Brian has also called me on the phone where contact was necessary.

So, though I don't dispute the problems some have had, I will say that I've always been satisfied with the service and prices I've received from Brian, and he's always been nothing less than a gentleman during our conversations and communications. (The only time I ever returned a knife for credit it was handled expeditiously and without complaint.)

I always try to keep in mind that Brian's is a one man operation with both the positive and negative points that such an enterprise brings along with it.

If you look for bad guy to buy from him, put Brian in your list.:barf:

wow, i ordered merchandise last week, and it arrived 100% no problem, everything ok. i have bought tons of stuff (well, over $1000 worth the last 12 months or so)and have NEVER had a prob. but i guess maybe i have been lucky, i have read about others w/probs, makes ya think twice, let me tell ya. usually, i only order from them when i need (want??) something, and no one else has it, i usually try TAD/1SKS/bayou laforche (?) first, then go on down the list till i find the thing, and they do have a good inventory of the stuff i seem to need anyway, although i dont know about them being the cheapest, hasnt been the case for what i am looking for, anyway. competitive yes, cheapest, no......not for what i have been looking for, anyway.
