Hey, I posted over in 'retail', but I need a response on this soon.

I ordered a knife from discountknives.com over a month ago. Brain emailed me to let me know that he didn't have ______, but would I prefer _______? I responded that either is fine, and got no response. Two weeks ago I called and asked what was up, and whoever answered the phone said that they hadn't shipped yet, but it should be in the mail in the morning. Now, two weeks later, it's still not here. No response to email, and the phone line is busy.

My biggest problem is that I will be leaving this address in a few weeks, and my mail will be held for the summer, not forwarded. So if this doesn't arrive in a few weeks, I'm not getting it for months.

What should I do? I've been emailing brian@discountknives.com Is there another address? How can I get ahold of this company? I really don't want to have to get my credit card company involved, but I will soon...

Hmmm... a question. Has Brian already charged your card?

In general, I find him a great guy, except that he doesn't tend to respond to his email or phone much, if at all.

Which number are you trying? You might want to try a redial campaign, or at different times of the day? I think I saw it mentioned here that he runs part-time, and if he's at a show, chance are no one will answer the line.

I'm not sure if I have a good answer for you.

They did charge my account, under the name of "THE BO'S'N LOCKER SILVER SPRING MD"

I'm calling 301-989-2562. I'm typically not able to call during normal business hours because I'm at work, but I try to call as often as I can. I've tried on three different days now.
 
Hm... that really sucks.

Yeah, it's very odd. I've had a lost order, but never after it's been charged already.

That looks like the number I had, too. If I recall correctly, the only time I managed to get a hold of Brian on the phone was in the morning, EST.

Have you ever had an order from them before? I wonder if it managed to get lost or something.

I'll try calling again tomorrow morning. But I'm in west-coast time, so even if I call before work, it'll be just before noon there. :( I guess I may just have to get my money back through the card. I hate to do that, though. The price was awesome. I really just wish he'd check his email and get that bloody knife out to me!
 
I placed orders with Brian four or five times in the last four years. He never charged my card until he shipped. If the charge came in the last few days, the package might be on the way.

If you want to cancel the order and he hasn't shipped it yet, he will issue a refund to your card ... if you can reach him.
