Dishwasher safe?

Nope, been married 6 year and two kids and we don't even own a dish washer lol. We hand wash everything!

I agree, don't see the issue with hand washing knives, and even some dishes. After 27 yrs of boat life where ALL dishes were hand washed I just got in habit of hand washing. I do have dishwasher now, but I still (and wife) wash most pots 'n pans by hand. AND ALL knives for sure. She's so proud of her custom knives with pretty handles she wouldn't dream of putting in dishwasher.

Warren, I made a couple to suit the same Bill of Needs, and I went with a large hidden tang in handles cast out of Alumalite. I just used a rectangular/octagonal mold and centered the tang up in that and then swirled together some colors of Alumalite and poured them into the mold, no pressure pot treatment, and they came out bubble free and I was able to grind them and finish them up beautifully with sandpaper and micro mesh. Just an idea--I really liked that they were totally seamless and the gal I made them for has loved them--her husband asked me how he should sharpen them, and I recommended a Work Sharp guided sharpener with the leather stropping plate--which he got and says he can get them shaving sharp pretty easily.

Ask your sister if she puts her jewelry in the dishwasher, or carefully cleans each piece by hand. :-P
Or any particular delicate piece of clothing that can't be washed on 'regular'.

I grew up washing all dishes by hand and don't understand the allergy to washing a couple things by hand, which takes about 12 seconds.
