Dishwasher

The knifes I put through (like the PM2) falls free and is super slick and does not need any oil.

This is the surprising part, I would have thought that eventually it would wash out the lube.

I suppose it goes without saying that you shouldn't put D2, M4, Cruwear or Maxamet in there. I would think that aggressive detergents would eventually degrade the FRN and G10. I've read that you can restore the look of G10 by treating it with something like WD40 but I haven't tried it. I don't know what you would put on FRN to preserve it.

In the short term I would think that it wouldn't affect a knife much. I even boiled an S30V PM2 one time and it had no affect on it.

I've been washing all my Glocks in the dishwasher since the mid 90's (G19, G29, G19, G17L, G24) after 500-1000 rounds. Not 1 issue ever, just relube with 1 drop of oil spread around and back in business. I use the cheap detergent not the ones with rinse agent ball in them. The cheap costco orange ones work wonders.

Probably cleans knives excellently as well, although adjusting blade fit and handle color are not something I can comment on.....

I put my Spyderco kitchen knives in the dishwasher. I wash my Shun's by hand. The Spydercos are inexpensive enough that if I ruin them; they are easily replaced and they look great when they come out. No, I do not wash any folder in the dishwasher.

I have a family member who has an American Flag Q. With all the holes in the blade and the handle, cutting stuff everywhere, including food, never cleaned and lives in a purse, it gets dirty. :) A dishwasher trip every 18 months helps, a scrub with a vegetable brush helps too

Yes I did it several times but mine have been broken that is why I needed a new one. May be because mine was too old, so I’ve bought one new, more powerful then mine was. With that I can easily put spyderco in it and don’t care if it will work, because I’ve very nice Guarantee from the shop where it was bought. Very nice one! More than that, I had the ability to try several models to choose perfect one for me. So, my experience is great in that store. My [Spam removed]
work so nice and properly now!

No wood handle, dishwasher safe at my house! Spydies get stuck in all the time, Rex 45 does not like dishwashers... Neither does toku-v... And yet they find there way to the dishwasher.

Only thing hand washed are my shuns because of the wood handles.

My son regularly puts his Pacific Salt in the dishwasher to clean it. In our house ,Only cheap pairing knives from Mercer and Victorinox go in. High end kitchen blades and our Spydercos are cleaned by hand!

The green FRN does look fantastic. I have never had to wash a knife in the dishwasher, but if I had to, I would do it with a Salt series only. I doubt an occasional wash in the dishwasher would hurt it, but again, I haven't had a knife dirty enough to require it. I would not do it with anything other than a Salt.

By the way, ndmiller, are you serious about washing Glocks? If so, I assume you must mean only the polymer lower?
