Disk attachment for my belt grinder

Has anyone seen or thought of making a disk attachment for a belt grinder that attaches to the drive wheel?
I've seen one for the front wheel, but that doesn't make sense to me.
Just trying to reduce costs a bit. I've got a nice motor and VFD for my esteem belt grinder. Seems like a waste not to attach a disk to it somehow.
Any reason this is a bad idea?
