Hey folks,

I've been looking for a 6-9" stand alone disk sander with adjustable table and miter gauge for some precision work on bolsters and such. All I've found either come attached to belt sanders or aren't powerfull enough to sand your fingernails. (hf) Lots of 12" but nothing smaller. I have a 9" disk attachment on my Coote so don't need anything for heavy grinding. Any ideas?

Beaumont Metal Works sells a top notch unit

You can build one yourself from a good motor with a 5/8" shaft and a disk plate from one of the suppliers.A surplus variable speed DC motor is the way to go .Stick with 9". 6" is too small for anything but small parts. If you want to use six in disks they will fit on a 9" plate. You can't go the other way.

I'm sorry, I'm having a tough time getting my point across. I'll try to be clearer. I have a 9" disk for my Coote.

I'm looking for a 6 to 9 inch with adjustable table and mitre gauge. I don't need another belt sander so have been looking for a stand alone. There are a few 12" but I'm hoping to find smaller. Rob has a nice 9", but there's no table.

He sells the 9" plate for $75. Give him a call and see if he can fabricate a table of some type.

I just bought a 9" hardcore from TruGrit last week for shy of $300 without a motor.
I had a motor and control on hand.

Damned good investment on my part.

That is one well built little contraption.
