Display Cabinet Design

thanks jb
thats all good info and i would be interested in seeing your case, but no i dont care for the felt backing thats what i am trying to get away from and the cases i have use plexi and i dont care for that either so i would like to try the glass
the weight wont be an issue and i dont intent to take them anywhere so it should work , if and when i make it i will post pics
ps you forgot a couple of tips , routers are very very loud and very messy and yes i quickly discovered i had to make a jig to control it lol

BM#10,
If you don't use felt as a backing, what do you intend to use? I'm open to alternatives.

hi mike
i dont figure to use any backing just the solid wood case itself with four keyhole slots (i think they are called) hung on four lagscrews

If I were to use a shadow box to put my 110 knives in, what is a good method to keep them upright (display wise) without a backing that has 110 forms for them to rest in.

I'm not thinking double sided tape.

Thanks....

Without a backing, you could always use some sort of peg system or use some sort of ledge to rest the knife on, or use wire straps, but that would look a little tacky. :(
