How do you guys display your knives?
Or do they stay in the safe?
DOes someone make wall cases or will I have to rely on the old woodshop skills?
Thanks

Smoky Mountain sells some. Oak & red velvet with a glass opening top. My wife got me one as a gift, but since my knives are more "go" than "show", I exchanged it for a Sharpmaker 204.

Sorry guys, I find those prices ridiculous. The best way IMHO to display your knife collection is definitaly, by making your own display case.

You don´t have to be too handy, it´s not that complicated. I´ve made one and I am no expert. Now it hangs on my bedroom wall, featuring small lights (12V) and having place for 60(!!!) medium sized folding knives. And the cost?? Somewhere around $130.

Just my 2c opinion.

Regards!

You need to be a bit careful about displaying valuables in your house as such displays can attract crime. Such a display should not be visible from the outside of the house (through a window) and should not be visible in part of the house where casual visitors come (for example, the entry hall where a deliveryman might be received.

Call me low key but displaying knives has never been my problem....I find a glass top box about right, 2-3" deep ..pick you own dimensions. Not hard to make with a minimum of skills, go plain or fancy. Now keeping those knives away from prying eyes, thats another matter.

I get mine from Collectors Edition Displays.

I'm with Craigz, I've ordered 9 display cases from them, and they hold up well. An 18"x24", is less than $50.00. Al

Hey Gus, thanks for that link!
I loved seeing the Warenski Tut dagger pictured on the site. It seems like ages ago when I read the article on the making of that knife and I remember being fascinated by the effort he put into it. Flawless execution and make me wish I were wealthy enough to be able to afford something that beautiful.
Anyone have any good pics of that knife?

I use a Gerstner tool chest to store and display my knives. They're not cheap but they're very nice.
Their yearly factory second sale is happening until 3/30.

Hiya!
I have a fairly large display case that's kept in MY ROOM!!
The door is always closed, and has a deadbolt on it.
There's a few pictures of it HERE.

I think the case cost me about $250... but I drove to Las Vegas to get it. It was just an hour's drive for me, but I suppose that shipping something like this might be cost prohibitive.

The only complaint I have is that it's not illuminated, and I've spent all year trying to permanently affix lighting affixtures to it.
Looks great for a week or so, then the damned lights fall off.

I ain't no handyman, so I have no one to blame but other people.

Unable to face blame, even backwardsly,
I remain,

PS - I'm probably not gonna check back on this post, but if you want to get a case like this, drop me an email at vampiregerbil@aol.com and I'll find out where exactly I got this from.
