Displaying Our Buck Collection

Hunter, Thank you a lot for this comment. I've displayed for 7 years and the cases take a beating, during hauling and moving in. So, I've had to replace 2 of them. Doing this is very different than carrying in a arm load of guns and plopping them down on a table with hopes of selling one. It's a benefit / donation that must have a decent level of appearance. You'll find some show folks don't like this. But in time by showing a good spirit they'll come around wanting information and show you respect. It's not for everyone as schedules and work have time constraints. I have to burn a day of vacation before the show to load up, drive there and set up before the show opens on Saturday morning. Then get home tired on Sunday night and it's back to work on Monday. And I didn't get anything done around the house. But that's my call. I want to promote the Buck Collectors. DM

300, Thank you for your help. I handed out all the catalogues, all the newsletters and most of the collectors membership applications. Plus, took notes on some items of interest. Did I mention the wife and I had one of those bar-be-que beef brisket sandwiches. Before we could eat them we had offers from show patrons to buy them. Cash up front! Haa, no way. It's good to see your kind responses. DM

Oregon, Thank you. There is a barrel nut 105 in the fixed blade display that I was able to get 3 years ago with the original sheath. That took some looking and $$$. Then in the folder display there is a Buck* 110 that I acquired this year. Which I got at a good price after I helped the owner clean out his garage. DM

Now I have it. Took me a while. Focus on the other fella's garage and not your own in order to find lost Buck gems. OK, okay. Foolishly, I've been cleaning out MY garage and finding long dead varmint: Opossum skin and bones, back in a dark corner under the work bench, only at this point. My place is sandwiched between quarter horse ranches so there are the flies in the Summer and I put up stinking fly traps in the garage. I thought that was where the stink was coming from! I should probably clean the garage more often... My lovely wife could hide a Buck knife out there and I would go to it don't you know. :)

I did find this jewel. It doesn't fit in my collection but as I work closely with them I wanted it. DM

Oregon, Haa, rodents always find a way into my shop like that and I have to find them and get them out. My little dog helps on this. Our flies are nearly gone now. DM

Thanks for the update David…and thanks for representing Buck Knives and BCCI!
I know you've heard it before, but nice display!:thumbup::thumbup:

Oregon, That's the same model only the year and wording have changed. I didn't get the box or sheath. I was glad to obtain what I did. DM

David,

Really enjoyed the photos of your collection. First class all the way!

David, thanks for showing your collection, superb! Also, thanks for sharing your wisdom along the way, I always learn a lot.

TAH, Thank you very much, your always pleasant to chat with in the Buck Forum. DM
Liberando, Thank you. My wife will tell you I don't have much wisdom but I do know a good bar-be-que beef sandwich. There are some good places in Oklahoma. I have a good friend that lives in Sillasaw. DM

Haa. Thanks, but I don't always put my best foot forward while on here. Some days I think about it more than others. Still, have a good one. DM

David, your display of your nice Buck knives looks great to me...:thumbup::thumbup:
I hope to go to that show some day... :)

Your New Bucklite 426 is sweet... Now I have to find one like it or
try to get yours... lol... I didn't know about that variation...

Thanks for sharing it and part of your collection with us... :)

Can you post your Bucklite on my Bucklite thread... Thanks ;)

Thank you. Sure you can Armond. Sounds fine. Yours is a 1990 mfg.. Both of ours are of 425M steel. In reading carefully I noted the officer's signature on the certificate. Early in my career I had met a Mr. Vigil at a meeting. I would think he has by now retired. So the signed certificate is worth something. Should I run across another one, I'll procure it for you. Or if you come across a double of yours I'll swap you mine. No big deal. DM
