If you do, how are you displaying your collection at the moment. Looking for some ideas.

Most of my collection isn't displayed. I keep the knives in knife rolls. I have a collection of Case Eisenhowers that I have in a glass display case. It looks like this.

I was wondering about this question. Does anybody have an upright display or anything, like a nice display case? I know a lot of people store their knives in drawers, but do any of you have a more visible way to show off your collection?

I'm interested in seeing some more ideas. I'm wanting to do the same but something not to extravagant and more practical. I'd like to "pull" from the display when I want to use one.

I display them attached to my gear...

LOL I get what your saying but they gotta be somewhere when your not using them.

I would love to have a wall display with some type of sheath storage compartment but I can't figure out how to design exactly how I would like it.

My display, grandchildrens' knives. Open on front, all knives on glass shelves

I might just take you up on that, assuming I can convince myself that exposing my entire knife collection to my wife will leave me with my manhood intact :)

It is simple, just put in a room she never goes in. Mine is in our kitchen. I have been thinking about leasing that room out. When our children were small and the dinner bell rang, they all jumped in the car. ;)

I recycle my wife's outgrown collections cases. The one you see a partial view of is 6'4" tall, hex sided, with two halogen lamps above for illumination. The display area is glass walled with two glass shelves and a mirrored bottom shelf. The display has a locking glass door and a locking door on the wood/laminate base, which stores the knife boxes within. This was a dropped line, 'Goebel Crystal', from a local store - and a bargain at $75.

I have the fixed blades now in a display area for an English antique corner 'bar', whose 220V lamps were replaced with undercounter 'cans' using LEDs. Cool white/even illumination at a 6W night light's power requirement. The hex glass cabinet now has just pocket knives - and flashlights - in it now. Check stores that specialize in 'collections' goodies, if you can find any more local such stores.

Another suggestion - the PRC-made machinist chests - like Harbor Freight carries for $75-$100. I bought three in a year for $70 sale price less 15-20% discount coupons. My wife acquired the first two - for jewelry cases! The third held pocket knives briefly - until I got the hex case. The machinist chest is now my hobby tool chest.

Stainz

I store some of mine in panel displays like the ones below. Others I have in glass displays, shadow boxes, the multiple staircase like Stainz above and many in drawers.
I'm working on a display that will hold many, just haven't finished it yet. Been working on it though. :D

These are some of the panels

Where is the Vanillie? :)

You'll have to tell me where you got that stuff at tool man. I like the looks of it, and it looks easy to setup. Pricy?

Right now I keep mine in a crappy little makeshift box made out of a usps box. I just ordered a knife roll from tsaknives though so I'm excited to have something legitimate.

JatMat, don't give out your address because you might find me one day in your kitchen fondling your knives. ;) :D
