I have searched, but didn't come up with much. I have some old contaminated stuff, and not sure what to do with it. Some how must have sprayed wd40 near and it got in it. Not a good etch !!! My. FC is 3 years old, and thought I'd just mix up some new.
Thanks

Every MSDS sheet I could find either lacked disposal directions or stated to "dispose of according to local, state and federal guidelines". This usually means, neutralize and toss.

FeCl3 and Lime are generally used as coagulants in wastewater treatment, so lime should be a safe neutralizer. I'd mix it carefully with baking soda (cheap). Produces water, salt, and iron carbonate, all neutral compounds. It's going to fizz and bubble a lot so a 5-gal pail outside is your best reaction vessel.

Call the city clerk or the fire department im sure they will point you in the right direction, In my city once a year they have a free hazardous waste collection day, most landfills are set up to except hazardous waste as well for a small fee

React as above and evaporate to solid waste. Iron carbonate does not present much hazard and sodium chloride is table salt.
